SEA seminar | Six months in: Reading the Prabowo Subianto presidency

8 May 2025

Seminar

Prabowo Subianto took office on 20 October 2024. The first six months of his presidency have offered more than just a glimpse into how he plans to use his power to pursue his vision, officially known as Asta Cita, and how that might shape the everyday lives of Indonesians.

In this seminar, we will have an interactive discussion on what Prabowo has done and achieved in the first semester of his administration, covering his policies on the economy (Rizal Shidiq), human rights and politics (Irene Hadiprayitno), Islam (Verena Meyer), and culture (Adrian Perkasa).

With recent developments in Indonesia in mind, we’ll frame our conversation around the question: is the Prabowo administration on the right track when it comes to accelerating development, strengthening democracy, and supporting civil society?
