Activities Fund

The Member Association KITLV invites its members to contribute to realizing the Association goals. All members can submit proposals for activities (seminars, lectures, public events etc.) open to academics as well as a wider audience. An annual budget of €10,000 is available to support 5 to 6 activities. For the organization of the annual congress, €6,000 is available.

Proposals can be submitted by members of the Association. Support will be a subsidy and matching will not be required.

Proposals can be submitted for two types of activities: small proposals or proposals for the annual congress.

Small proposals can be either specialized and targeting a smaller audience, or wider in scope and aimed at a broader audience. The format  for the activities is free and the subjects can explore the boundaries of the themes and goals of the Association.

The theme and form of proposals for the annual congress should be aimed at a wider and more diverse audience and will be positioned more at the heart of the themes and goals of the Association.

Small proposals meet the following criteria:

  • A concise description of the activity and an argumentation how the proposed activity contributes to the spreading and development of the themes and goals of the Association.
  • A description of the target audience and why it can best be reached through the proposed activity.
  • A CV of the applicant(s).
  • An argued and specified budget. The maximum grant is €2000.
  • A time schedule for the organization of the activity.

An annual congress proposal meets the following criteria:

  • The KITLV annual congress takes place in June and should be held in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting of Association members.
  • A concise description of the annual congress programme and an argumentation how the proposed programme contributes to the spreading and development of the themes and goals of the Association.
  • A description of the target audience and why it can best be reached through the proposed activity.
  • A CV of the applicant(s).
  • An argued and specified budget. The maximum grant is €6000 (including venue and catering).
  • A time schedule for the organization of the annual congress.

Submission

Small proposals can be submitted four times a year (1 March, 1 June, 1 September and 1 December) two weeks prior to the quarterly board meeting. Activities can also be approved for a date later than the immediate quarter after submission.

The proposal for the annual congress should be submitted by 1 December.

Decision

The board of the Member Association KITLV decides on awarding or dismissing the proposal and will inform the applicant thereof. There can be no appeal against decisions of the board.
